Re: Science SC

I hated this exam. It was so skills based....all the content i studied wasn't in it, or if it was, it was used up in multiple chocie. So much of the exam was just source material and then writing from the top of my head. Oh and what the hell is a crucible? I pulled that one from the air as well....

Re: Science SC

It was okay. Multichoice was good, the whole short answer thing was good. . . Except for the bit where it asked what was equipment called. I knew it was a flask, but did I have to call it a conical flask or just a flask? I just wrote flask :p

Some stupid questions, always took a bit of thought. Did well.

Rofl, the science one was EASYYYYYYY lmao. The 6 mark question about DNA, no worries. Almost left the back page out haha.

I put conical flask just in case. Flask should do fine though.

The multiple choice and short answer were alright I suppose...hated the long answer.
Probably failed.

Re: Science SC

Multiple Choice and 10 Short ones were pretty easy, long ones a bit harder but overall pretty simple.

For the DNA queston worth 6 marks would I lose marks if I didn't write a brief outline and wrote in detail?

Goodluck tommorrow everyone

Re: Science SC

Mmm.. This was harder than expected, I thought the short response were fairly easy though. Some of my answers that I can remember (in no particular order):
ENERGY (What's carried in the wave of a tsunami that is the same as all waves)
FLASK (object 'o')
EARTHQUAKE (that one about plate movement)
OVARY (egg question)
ACCELERATION (object changing speed)
3.5 (millimetres)

Can anyone remember more answers, see if we can work out our mark out of 10 for this section?

Re: Science SC

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the other question that was .13mm (multiple choice)?
*Crosses fingers and hopes I didn't screw something up*
And I think that one that I put "ACCELERATION" for was meant to be "DISPLACEMENT" :(

EDIT: I don't think it can be velocity either, that's "an object's speed in a given direction", wheras the question asked for a change.

Can't exactly remember the question but instead of acceleration i got velocity, few of my friends got that as well ...

0.35 was the length in centimetres, i almost made that mistake as well ...the answer is 3.5.

So did I.

If it was displacement. . .gah. Displacement isn't about change of speed though. I wrote acceleration *shrug*

Re: Science SC

I don't remember the thing about "EARTHQUAKE (that one about plate movement)" what was that question??.... I think I got it wrong!!! oops.

The answer is acceleration to the other question. well...that's what it says in our science notes lol. "Acceleration is the change in speed and/or direction of an object." ..... Isn't displacement the change in direction, distance or movement of an object?
