We got this huuuge packet to do and here are the questions I don't understand...
Help would be greatly appreciated!
For the following proof
with a circle that has an angle that goes outside the circle...
given line PA equals line PB
prove that line PC = line PD
in 5 steps.
next proof
Given: AB is diameter, BC is tangent to circle O
prove: triangle AXB ~ triangle ABC
in 6 steps

If triangle RST is congruent to triangle WXY and the area of triangle QXY is 20 square inches, what is the area of triangle RST?

Which three of the following numbers cannot represent the area of a polygon? ... a.68 b.40 c. -5 d. square root of 30 e. 0 f. -200

Can a rectangle and a triangle have the same area?

When a diagonal is drawn in a rectangle, what is true of the two triangles into which it divides the rectangle? Why?

The roof of a cabin is to be shingled at a cost of $70 a square (A square in shingling, is a region with an area of 100 sq. ft.) Find the cost of shingling the roof shown

A wooden fence 6 ft high and 300 ft. long is to be painted. How many gallons of paint are needed if one gallon covers 400 sq. ft.?

A piece of sheet metal is cut and bent to form a box. The box has no top.. find the area of
a. the bottom
b. the two longer sides
c. the two shorter sides
the measurements are as 18 cm. on the bottom 4 cm on the sides and 2 cm for the with

a 3-ft. sidewalk surrouns a rectangular plot that measures 20 ft. by 30 ft. Find the area of the sidewalk

a rectangle is twice as long as it is wide. If its area is 50 sq. yards, Find the lenght and the width

Some pleated draperies must be twice as wide as the window they cover. How many square yards of material are needed to cover a window 2 ft. wide and 3 ft. long?

I'll get the ball rolling. :]
The two triangles are congruent, because the matching sides from the rectangle are equal, and they have a common length (the diagonal). Since the three sides are equal, the two triangles are congruent. (Note: you can also say that the opposite angles of the rectangle which correspond to the two matching angles in the triangle are right angles)

P.S Some of those questions, particularly the first few, are lacking in information!
You should also number the questions, it makes it easier to see what question has been answered.

same as above.

did you mean the area of WXY is 20 square inches??? if so, then the area of RST is also 20 square inches. cos they are CONGRUENT

c. -5
e. 0
f. -200

yes,
rectangle: b=4, h=3 -> A=12
triangle: b=6, h=4 -> A=12

There is no roof shown...

Area of fence=
6*300=1800ft2
Price=
1800/400=4.5 gallons

whats the "bottom", "sides", and "width"

a 3-ft. sidewalk surrouns a rectangular plot that measures 20 ft. by 30 ft. Find the area of the sidewalk
A of rectangular plot = 20*30 = 600 ft2
A os entire area = (20+6) * (30+6) = 936ft2
therefore A od path = 936-600=336ft2

length = 2x
width = x
Area = 2x2
2x2 - 50
x2=25
x=5 yards

therefore
length is 10 yards
width is 5 yards

is the thing is twice as wide, then doesnt that mean that you need 4ft wide and 3ft long of material???
so you need 12ft2

I hate geometry of the circle. I can do the stuff that has numbered angles in them but i kinda really suck at the theory part (no numbers).....
Any tips for this topic, cause i have an exam on this, next week, and i bearly understand this crap....and yep....i'm thinking im pritty much screwed.

The best you can in preparation for the exam is do plenty of practice questions and know your theorems inside out. Good luck!
