Getting an Internship ( Software Eng ) (1 Viewer)

Hey guys. I'm an international student in my third year of Software Engineering at UNSW and will need to do my internship ( or Industrial Training as some call it ) sometime this year, presumably in the summers. I'd like to know how does one go about securing an internship,what are the requirements (WAM ?) and how competitive is it? Does every student find one without much of a hassle?
