Getting to school (1 Viewer)

It takes me around 1.5hrs to get to school. There seems to be an increasing trend of ppl taking 1-2hrs (well, I seem to be meeting alot of ppl that have to). I'm pretty use to it now, after 5/6 years, and I'll probably be adding another 15 mins to that when I get into uni. When I think about it though, it seems totally ridiculous to be going that far when I can just catch a 10 minute bus to my local high school.

So, what would be your limit to how far you have to travel daily?

my mum drives me (yay!)

but i have to catch bus back (boo)

my max travel time would be 1-1.5 hr if i got into a selective high school

but if i didn't i would try and go local as possible

Anything over an hour to me is pretty unreasonable for a high school. For uni though, I would say its reasonable for 1-1.5 hours by train.

The mark of a winner - prepared to sacrifice an extra hour of sleep to spend 5hrs a day with a school mostly filled with other similarly sleep-deprived people.

i take 10 minutes to walk to school! its just a ten minute walk along a straight road and im there. i know ppl who live directly across the street from the school gate and just need to walk across the street when the bell rings!!

Took me about 30-40mins to get to TAFE (did my VCE @ TAFE) last yr

it used to take me an hr to get to school by public transport. and that was too far...

It takes me about 10mins from my dads and 15mins from my mums walking.

My mum works next door to my school, so depending on the traffic, the amount of time it takes to get to school varies from about 4 - 10 minutes, and about the same back

i walk, its about a 15-20 minute walk depending on how much of a rush im in.

5 Mins -> 1/2 an hr -> 2 mins

so i travel about an hour (including waiting) each way...

it takes me 25 mins to get to school by bus.. but 10-15 by car.. but i dont get how its 'in the suburb?' usually it doesnt take more then 5 mins to get from one end of a suburb to another

In year 7 it was a 55mins bus trip, last year they changed the route and it was 30mins, when i get my P's it will be a 10 min drive ... figure that one out !!

dad drives me- around 15 mins.. would take 10 mins with a good driver but dad is still unsure which is the accelerator and which is the brake it seems.
