I can't say that I would vote for the woman if I were an MP, as she hasn't got the public demeanour that you need, to be a successful leader...however...

When people talk about the leadership challenge they say Beazley, Rudd (well up until an hour ago) and then...oh yeah, Gillard.

She seems to be a token contester...no one is taking her seriously...

I'd like to know why.
Is it because she hasn't got that friendly face or the cheerful ease with the media?
Or is it because no one has ever considered a woman running the country?
Or does everyone just expect Kimmy to be the new leader, cause he's pretty much the only one doing anything about it?

i think that it is a combination of australia really not being ready to elect a female as PM, who knows why but i think we really prefer to stick with whats been done before.. and also that she doesnt really come across as a leader of a country, i mean i look at her and think of that bitchy teacher that i never liked, but yeah

Because she'd only receive support from the hardline left faction.

You? the fan of Good Charlotte and other pop bands, lover of fashion and such are far left?
disturbing isn't it? Really, you should try to be just a touch less judgemental my dear, my pop-punk-poser love etc. has nothing to do with my political opinions.

Breaking- There, there *pets* you know you love me :p

Yes it does, some one on the 'far' left as u claim to be would hate such commercialism, u seem to love it, thrive in it.
haha how far left do you mean? I'm taking left-labor here my dear.
Oh and for the record, you don't know me nearly well enough to assume that I love and thrive on commercialism Which incidently I don't.

i think gillard is a good politician, but isnt suitable for leader just yet.

Leaders have to put up with being thrashed around, getting cruicified for small mistakes, past mistakes, family mistakes etc right?

i'd vote for her, but i dont think she will tolerate much of this trashing. Shes done a good job with health, thats why she hasnt experienced much of it yet.

like when the speaker interrupts her speeches, she doesnt speak above the speaker, like all the other blokes, she pauses, waits for the speaker to descipline the pollys and then continues like nothing has happened.

she needs more agression :) i think she'll get it in time..... dont all pollys grow up into that kind of a grumpy old image????????

I think it's time we had a viable third party. One with good moral values, yet recognises the virtue of economic left policy.
