We have an in class essay to prepare for and the question is "Explore the representation of at least one intense human relationship in The Tragedy of King Lear evaluating its significance in the play as a whole"
At the moment I wanted to try and be a little different so I chose the relationship of Goneril and Regan. So for my these i was thinking of something to do with how their relationship is represented during the opening of the play as being extremely close, it is hard to see the difference in the two. As the play progresses we see that this was a misreprensentation of the relationship with the differences in the two women becoming evident as well as the eventual poisining of Regan by Goneril. My question is, how can I incorporate all of that into my thesis? and how can I make my essay (as my teacher says) "go deep but not wide in its analysis".
