Aside from Sigma Science education (whom I will presume has all its preliminary course spots fully booked out by now), what are some other good physics tutoring colleges?

From what I know, there's quite a few (Matrix, Dr Du, Intuition Education, Zhangs)

SIGMA is very good. Chris knows how to explain concepts well and he also has HSC marking experience. Don't go ace. I went in yr11 and the teachers didn't really teach well. 3 hours is too much for phys and ace overprices it.

Im aware that sigma is really good, it was my first priority however I dont think they would have any available spots for next year at this moment (especially because they are closed for the holidays right now lol). As for ACE, are they really that bad :/ ive heard a lot of ruse, baulko and north sydney kids go there?

What's your opinion on ACE chem, especially in comparison to Zhangs?

Zhang's and Ace ive heard are both on par for chem, but which one would be better for physics in your opinion?
I personally would go for SIGMA but it is very popular so I doubt you would be able to go now. Zhangs has proper school teachers from Reddam which is a top school. Zhangs is 935 dollars while I am pretty sure ace is 1200 dollars. I believe you would get more bang for your buck from zhangs because the questions are harder, they actually mark your homework and tests, they make you copy down notes rather than printing it for you in the beginning although you get a copy from the slides. I personally find this better since it keeps you more alert. Ace does make you write stuff but not much. The lessons are more lively at Zhangs. I found some teachers monotone. Also, zhangs is more ruse so you can compete with dedicated students. Ace also has students from like Baulko but the lessons seem to be lazy.

Another thing is, would you want university students teaching you for your most important school year or proper school teachers with hsc marking experience? I guess the uni students would have done well, but most if not all of them also relied on tutoring so their teaching skills are more limited to what they were taught or exposed to rather than their ability to apply knowledge. The reason why I found this a problem was because when I asked questions, I found "I'm not too sure" a somewhat common reply to a question and their explanations were more catered to how they understood a topic rather than how to explain a topic to students like teachers.

But also, I forgot to say this earlier, ace does have one proper physics teacher, Mr Khoury. He is very popular so I don't know whether you will be able to go to his classes but apart from him I don't think I could recommend anyone.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll probably stick with Zhang's physics for now, and try my luck with Sigma next year :D

Hey, hey 👋

Chris from Sigma here :)

Whilst the preliminary classes are pretty much filled, I am either looking into starting another Prelim class on Saturday AM or even adding a few more students to each existing class as I know quite a few students will opt for the simultaneous online lesson option and do the work from home due to the COVID situation.

Send me a DM :)
