ummmmm im sure what they went throgh was 'just like just like just like just like a thug holiday'

its a pretty emotional song but....i don't think the lyrics would be very applicable here lol.

did u think this because it says 'just like the soldiers that aint coming home this year'? in the chorus lol

YES!

Burzum - War depicts a totally accurate view on war as well (...or something).

Travelling Soldier- Dixie Chicks
yeah - good/appropriate song

altho...it is a bit american-vietnam vet-ish but its probly the most appropriate one out there:)

i reckon occasions like this, most appropriate songs are the old classics they play like...land of mine and all that stuff..

cause it seems liek most the popular/well known songs about war are protest songs and that would be kinda disrespectful

1 - i dont see how songs written specifically to honour war victims and veterans are not appropriate... just look at the lyrics...

2 - no where did anything say post before anzac day in reference to this anzac day

clever lara, sticking to my format...
anzac day is not about "thugging" nor does it have anything to do with the dixie fucking chicks (you would like them wouldnt you)...
anzac day is a celebration of the bravery of AUSTRALIANS...
AUSTRALIANS>>> doesnt it seem reasonable that an AUSTRALIAN song be used in this tribute???

ANZAC = Australian and New Zealand Army Corps....yeah its all about australians....

a song doesnt have to be written by an australian to have sentiment to the occassion...
the dixie chicks song is about a soldier who doesnt return home and remains unremembered... and i dont like the dixie chicks.... i just remember hearing this song

and i didnt say the occasion is about "thugging" as you put it....i never sai dthat nor agreed with anyone who did

if you want an aussie song - Cold Chisel - when the war is over..the original...the new version's crap... thats the closest you'll get to a song that is respectful and not explicitly a protest song since you dont agree with the traditional songs like land of mine and let there be peace on earth that have been used for years and years and years....
