All in all - it sounds fine. Too expensive though. You could probably get the same deal somewhere else for ~2000, maybe a little less. My money is that the video card is what's costing you. Unless the case is like a $200 supercooled one or something :)

Anyway, my thoughts:

Intel P4 530 3Ghz CPU, 800Mhz FSB

Good; Could go for a 3.2 if you wanted, not a lot of noticable difference unless you're rendering video, though.

Gigabyte GA-81915P-G Motherboard

Gigabyte == Win

1 Gig DDR PC-3200 RAM (2 Sticks of 512)

512 Minimum, 1gb is better :D

Gigabyte nVidea G6600 + PCI-Express 256 MB Video Card *

Not too shabby, although I don't know enough specifics about this card to give a great comparision. This is where the money would be.

Creative Labs Audigy 2 Value 6.1 Sound Card

Yeah, little overkill unless you're running a pro sound system, but this is fine.

Western Digital 160 Gig 7200 RPM 8Mb Cache HDD

SATA drive or IDE ?

Not bad size wise.

Pioneer DVR-109BI 6x Dual/Double Layer DVD Burner **

That's fine.

8870KL Case Silver with Front USB (Or Similar)

Sounds fine.

3.5" Floppy Disk Drive

Good for reading old stuff if you need to. Not much use for the future.

Sony 17" SDMHS74 LDD Monitor

Good.

Fusion HDTV PCI Digital TV Tuner Card with Remote Control

Pointless unless you're definitely going to be using it.

Windows XP Home (OEM) On disk and installed

Good.

It seems ok, but i'm not too sure about the noise of 5xx cpu + 6600 graphics card......
Personally i'd go for Athlon64 system simply because of noise factor.

You could prolly get a more value for money LCD panel, but if you want reliability go for it.

acctually dell can do it for cheaper

P4 530 3.0Ghz
1gig ram
no floppy
160gig SATA
16x dual layer burner
256meg 6800
19" flat panel OR good 17" flat panel
Sound blaster live
free printer

for $2200

i think you only get 1 day to buy it though...

The 6600 provides a great performance for its price. Good choice.

I dont think that first system is worth it. The ordinary 6600 isnt a great video card, you can pick them up for a couple of hundred or maybe even less. Youd be wanting at least a 6600 GT or most probably a 6800 GT for that price
