Hey...how do you calculate your GPA?...I take it that its not an average of your marks coz I've heard ppl saying theirs was like 5.75 or something....

Also...whats the average GPA to transfer from UWS to UNSW?

You're going to have to be a bit more specific I'm afraid. You'll need a higher GPA to get into law than food science. At UNSW we use WAM, which is just an average (weighted by credit points) mark.

GPA = Grade point average.

Different places do it differently. In general, allocate a number to each grade.

eg
0 Fail (0-50)
4 Pass (50-65)
5 Credit (65-75)
6 D (75-85)
7 HD (85-100)

(just an example, i'm not sure of the specific numbers)

Now give each course a weighting based on the credit points

A (6/24)
B (4/24)
C (4/24)
D (4/24)
E (3/24)
F (3/24)

And GPA = Σ Weight . Grade#

By my system, wam 74 = wam 65 = gpa 5.
WAM is more accurate.
