I am so loving my resume, it is so GREAT!!

I have received a significant amount of request for interviews, mostly Waitress/Bar Attendant or Kitchen Hand positions (had to reject about 4).

Is it because of my great resume, or is it because there are significant amount of waitress/bar attendant and kitchenhand positions available.

I'm curious... do resumes really affect your chance of getting great jobs?

Yes they do. A good resume does the selling for you.. a bad one gets thrown in the bin.

yeah have you had experience? of course, a resume makes a difference.

but if you compare someone with experience and someone without, the experience makes a LOT more of a difference

but the 3 years is a huge plus. if you had the same resume with no experience, you would have a significantly smaller number of people calling you

i swear there are a ton of jobs that dont really need experience but they ask for it and expect thick resumes. now i know that a senior lecturer needs refrences and tons of experiences but if youre gonna apply to be a kitchen hand or a stock person or those ppl at the registers all you need is the ability to stand up and speak english properly. some employers like screwing with you're hopes.

Well this area is considered "no education needed level", so obviously it would be less strict. Businesses don't expect thick resumes 1 - 3 pages is enough for them (that's not thick).

But these kind of jobs, it also depends on location. If the atmosphere is great and the name is well known to corporate people that will assist you in future job seeking.
