hay im just wondering how far you would haggle for a 20gb mp3 these days...

i mean walking off the street and trying to convince the sale staff at a jb hifi or bing lee (whatever) to sell an mp3 player in the region of $370 lets say, below the given price

what is a reasonable price to actually pay?

What?

$370 below the RRP? Hell no.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong. :p

I reckon you could get $50 off the RRP.

I got $100 off, but that was coz I bought it overseas.

find a cheaper price + show them catalogue or print out and ask if they can give you a "better price". even better, find a friend who's buying something expensive from JB like a camera/tv and ask if you could buy your mp3 player in the same transaction, and knock even more off.

Why don't you just buy the mp3 player from ebay! I just sold my iPod shuffle to some dude over seas for $68.

on ebay you don't get any warranty or anything though most of the time.... and if you do get a warranty then it usually costs about the same price as the shops.

Do you reckon I could haggle lower somewhere else for a 20gb ipod than buying it with the education discount from apple?

:p

Nah, it was also partially because i bought a digital camera/SD card at the same place.

Note to Ash: If you're buying Apple stuff online, don't use their delivery system. Star Express must be the worst delivery system in the world.
