I was bumming around myspace the other day trying to waste some time and amongst all the hundreds of girls that think they can sing I stumbled across a really good one surprisingly. Her name is Kristy Frank and she's actually really young - only 16! My mates and I listened to it yesterday when we were just hanging out, and we all thought it was good stuff. mostly poppy with a few slower ones mixed in. Sounds like your usual cookie-cutter chick-pop to me...but that was only after one song. I guess it's ok for 16...if you like that kinda music.

My current fave female solo artist is Jaymay, who's causing a stir in the indie/folk scene in America with the major labels keen to sign her. A bit like a raw sounding Missy Higgins, but with talent:
