I'll add this here, I suppose.

Dr Gae Gae Callender (Macquarie University) will be speaking next Wednesday (28th September) at Macquarie about Hatshepsut and her place in history. It won't go for too long, I think, but if you're near-by and you're interested, come along. I'll be there, asking questions from Gae as usual:

Wednesday, 28 September
Dr Gae Callender (Macquarie University)
Hatshepsut's Place in History
8.15pm, Museum of Ancient Cultures Seminar Room in X5B, Level 3.

honestly, if u had bothered to look in the resources section or in ur textbook you would have found the answers - miss_gtr, i applaud u for reminding her that it isnt hard to find these, they are pretty standard, you could also go to the Board of Studies website and look at past paer answers, as i can garuntee there will be an exemplary answer somewhere on the site to both of those q's

I wasn't even aware of the USyd Egypt lecturers like until the week they were held. May I ask who else spoke? It's a bit random having Egypt lectures being held there, although I guess it's more a matter of a venue to hold lectures.

On Wednestday, Gae only talked about Hatshepsut. She's a bit boring, and loves her self a bit too much. I think she can be bitter at the fact that she's gotten rejected from excavating with the Macquarie team and has been forced to work with the Czechs.

That being said, she's always very nice and goes out of her way to say hello to everyone. She has an extraordinary talent for remembering names (I thought I was special!), too, which is fun.

Ah, yeh it was June, I think.

Gae can be a bit boring, and I think she reads off notes too much.

yea .. when i heard her apparently the laptop she was using stuffed up and wouldnt connect properly with the projector, so 10 minz of the lecture was wasted. Also she couldnt get the microphone working .. eventually she gave up but by then we where already asleep :D

is she a good source to use ? .. like, if i mention her anywhere in my O.K Q's will the markers hate me ?

Just be careful not to misquote her- she yells out in the middle of marking sessions 'I did not say that!' :D
