Major Nelson's (of Xbox fame) twitter blog seems to suggest that they have. Does anyone know what this is about?

I'll be interested to see how this pans out, EA are undoubtedly the biggest publisher of games atm.

The problem with Macs though lie inherently in the middleware option, ie game engines, which are/were primarily designed, optimised and coded for DirectX (inherently a Windows platform).

It'll be interesting as to whether this plunge by a major publisher will help this or not, but don't expect to see Mac's to overtake PC anytime soon.

This might entice me to get a mac. I'm seriously beginning to want one.

Then they'll simply recode it and use OpenGL, which is what i'll assume they will do.

Probably. However, even though EA are a large publisher, their games have severely decreased in quality recently. Furthermore, EA doesn't publish THAT many games.
