does ne1 noe y the quality of reception of FM waves is better than that of AM waves??

thx, it realli helped me 2 understand how they work in detail...
i found tht slight changes in amplitude will cause the AM 2 result in static, would that b the reason 4 them 2 interfere with metals though??
In the prac we did @ skol, we were not able 2 hear AM when the aerial was covered with aluminium foil whereas we could still hear FM.
y wud onli the AM waves b affected??
