Hey, for my assessment task, our teacher has assigned us a question from the 2007 Ext. English HSC Paper:
Question 4 - Elective 2: Crime Fiction
Passion is at the heart of Crime Fiction. Yet detachment is also crucial.
Write an essay in which you evaluate the extent to which this is true of TWO prescribed texts AND at least TWO texts of your own choosing.
For the precribed texts I was thinking of doing The Skull Beneath the Skin and Anil's Ghost, and for the related texts I still have no idea which ones to do.
With the whole passion and detachment thing, I was thinking that doing texts which had a female detective would be useful as they'd demonstrate how both emotions and detachment assist in solving cases, but I'm not sure.
Basically in general I'm not sure how to go about to composing a response to the question, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (Just a note, my assessment is due on the 13th of June)
