Help! Can't find syllabus documents >_< (1 Viewer)

Heyyy, year 11 student here who's just started Extension 2 English and in trying to pick the right medium, I'm concerned about my limitations for each one. I've noticed past threads which talk about video being <8 minutes, short stories 8000 words etc, but I can't seem to find any current syllabus documents on the Board Of Studies website that talk about these things. (I've searched about five times, to no avail! )

Also I'm concerned about offensive language, not to say that I've got an insanely crippled vocabulary and neeeeed to swear but depending on my target audience and the concept I'm leaning towards, it's likely a few naughty words might pop up here and there.

To add to my problems this is the first time my English teacher offers Extension 2 - he is an excellent teacher for Advanced and Ext 1 but he hasn't given me any specific requirements in regards to the major work.

I would be eternally grateful if somebody could link me to the appropriate document(s) so I can decide which medium will be most appropriate.

A second question (probably belongs in the multimedia subforum but I might as well get it over with now): does a video/film have to be strictly scripted or can it be a more candid thing with the focus on effective editing to get my message across?

There's definitely documents which tell you the requirements. I can't seem to find it on the boardofstudies site either but I remember my teacher giving me an entire booklet on it with the specifications of each medium. Maybe ask you teacher for it?

Using expletives is acceptable if it's approrpriate to your form, purpose, audience. There's some information on content and language use at this url:

Since you don't have much information on the course, mediums etc etc, I say you should read some of the marker's comments from previous years. For your convenience here are the links:

ANother thing, I went to this ETA seminar thing last year and took down some notes. I've uploaded them for you to have a read through. My emphasis was on the critical response medium but there's some good general information there for you to read through if you like. Hope that helps!

Thanks heaps for those, I've decided to do creative writing cause I don't think I could pull off the idea I had for a video in 8 minutes. The notes all came in handy, I've printed a lot of them off so I have something to refer back to.

I also asked my teacher about swearing, he said it's generally best to avoid it cause it's likely to offend the markers. I think some of my work is going to be fairly confronting, however, so I'm still wondering about that.
