I'm currently finishing off my Year 12 WACE this year and was looking to try and find some options to do a double degree. Looking at several unis, I'm having trouble deciding between the university courses in the different unis. Really into music and looking to studying music but I'm also hoping to do a second degree in another field on the side as well probs in science. So far, UNSW has had the most flexible courses with Advanced Science and Music. ANU doesn't allow advanced combinations with music. But my teachers have been asking me to try out for USYD music. Looking at the courses, there really isn't much choice when it comes to sciences and music. I so far been able to find only med and engineering that pair up with Music studies.

What is the big difference between UNSW, USYD and ANU in terms of music standards? I've been asking around with mentors but they don't seem to know much about the music program at UNSW. Could someone tell me about the pros and cons?

Also, just wondering, what exactly is the difference between Bachelor of Music Studies and Bachelor of Music (x) in USYD? They list them separately. Does one not provide practical components? Coming from Perth, UWA recently stopped their double music degree program and offer music as a second major which doesn't really offer any practical component at all so I was thinking if it was similar?
