By using the Ka value and rearranging the Ka expression, you can find out what the hydrogen ion concentration is. Then by rearranging the Kb constant you can determine the OH concentration. Hence by find out which one is in excess and by how much, you can determine the PH of the solution. Note if the OH is in excess, find pOH and then work it out from there.
