thanks
thanks
Sorry, but I need some clarification. I would like to point out I simply grabbed actual quotes from your holy book and didn't even provide my opinion so I don't understand why I need a life...That first commenter needs a life. Here is what Islam is from a practising muslim,
A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet (PBUH) said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim)
We respect our parents so much! We pray and are taught to be humble and grateful. We give charity to the poor and gifts to our neighbours, we observe a holy month where we fast during the day then eat and share our food at night, in order to empathise with the less fortunate and follow a main pillar in Islam. We must behave justly;
“God does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just towards them. God loves those who are just.” (Surat al-Mumtahana, 8)
We dress modestly and must respect all religions and in reponse to the first commenter, here are ten rules of battle that had to be followed in the time where relevant. (As Muslims don't have traditional battles anymore so your point was irrelevant and unnecessary).
1. “Do not kill any child, any woman, or any elder or sick person.” (Sunan Abu Dawud)
2. “Do not practice treachery or mutilation.(Al-Muwatta)
3. Do not uproot or burn palms or cut down fruitful trees.(Al-Muwatta)
4. Do not slaughter a sheep or a cow or a camel, except for food.” (Al-Muwatta)
5. “If one fights his brother, [he must] avoid striking the face, for God created him in the image of Adam.” (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
6. “Do not kill the monks in monasteries, and do not kill those sitting in places of worship. (Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal)
7. “Do not destroy the villages and towns, do not spoil the cultivated fields and gardens, and do not slaughter the cattle.” (Sahih Bukhari; Sunan Abu Dawud)
8. “Do not wish for an encounter with the enemy; pray to God to grant you security; but when you [are forced to] encounter them, exercise patience.” (Sahih Muslim)
9. “No one may punish with fire except the Lord of Fire.” (Sunan Abu Dawud).
10. “Accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and to not do wrong even if they commit evil.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
We also have been taught not to be selfish or gluttonous, we must speak only kind words and act nicely in character all together. We just want to live in peace like anyone else but we're being hated by many now /: Well i hope I've given you some insight.
So see ya and Peace be upon you!
Hey guys so this thread is helpful can you please continue this discussion in the forum suggested. ThanksSorry, but I need some clarification. I would like to point out I simply grabbed actual quotes from your holy book and didn't even provide my opinion so I don't understand why I need a life...
Also, does this mean your book contradicts itself? Or is it that different people are interpreting it differently? I find it amazing how such a loving book can be so misunderstood by bad people smh...
