in desprate need of help!!!!
physics assigment
constructing a dc motor+ report+ presentation

1. A working Motor
-Construction:
Craftsmanship
Compactness
Robustness

-Presentation
Understanding and clarity of description
Ability to answer questions

-Performance Testing:
Choice of Variables
Effective control of other variables
Effeciency

2. Report:
-Title and Aim
-Historical Background/Theory
-construction Detials
-Mehtod of Testing
-Results and Discussion
-Conclusion and Reference

3. Presentation:
Purpose
Safety Audit/Risk Assessment (precautions taken in undertaking the task)
Procedures
Data (this will most likely be qualitative)
Inferences ( how did you ensure your model was the best it could be?)
Evaluation

some of the questions i need help in:
explanation of the motor effect
an explanation of how the motor works (relate model to the theory)
Explain the effects of energy transfers and energy transformations
Explain the effects of electric, magnetic and gravitational fields

Syllabus out comes assessed
  • Choose equipment or resources by:

identifying and/or setting up the most apporpriate equipment or combination of equipment needed to undertake the investigation

carrying out a risk assessment of intended experimental procedures and identifying and addressing potential hazards

identifying technology that would be used during investigation determining its suitabilty and effectiveness for its potenital role in the procedure or investigation

recofnising the difference between destructive and non destructive testing of material and analysing potentially different results from these two procedures
  • Perform first hand investigation by carrying out the planned procedure, recognising where and when modifications are needed and analysing the effect of these adjustments
  • Gather information from secondary resources by accessing information from a range of resourcesm including popular scientific journals, digital technologies and the internet
  • analyse information to:

identify and explain how data supports or refutes an hypothesis, a prediction or a proposed solution to a problem"

use cause and aeffect relationship to explain phenomena
  • Use available evidence to:

design and produce creative solutions to problems

propose ideas that demonstrate coherence and logical progression and include correct use of sceintific principles and ideas
  • explanation of the motor effect
  • where you got the original working motor plan from
  • any modificatioons made to the original plan (include reasons)
  • an explanation of how the motor works (relate model to the theory)
  • Explain the effects of energy transfers and energy transformations
  • Explain the effects of electric, magnetic and gravitational fields
  • Plan first hand investigation to describe and trial procedures to undertake investigations and explaing why a procedure, a sqeunce of procesdures or the repetion of procedure is appropriate

IF all or any answeres to my questions exist..lol.. please post
any extra related help would be apriciated =D

well you need a magnet, a coil(copper) and a shell to hold it all steady.
if you want just pull apart a small already made dc electric motor and have a look at the setup.

i made 1 for my design and tech major, its was for a turbine.
