Hey guys,

For various reasons, mostly my laziness, I have basically done no work all year and my results reflect this. I go to an average ranking selective school, but my ranks are all very poor. In legal and business I am about halfway out of 50, and in adv english, 2u maths, economics and pdhpe I am towards the bottom.

I understand the way the process works etc, but just wondering if it is absolutely impossible to get a decent UAI? I'm still struggling for motivation, so I need to know whether to bother trying or to just give up.

If I really study hard from now I know I can get 90s in most and at least high 80s, but if that will only get me a 70 something UAI there will be no point. What is the best possible UAI with shit ranks but killing the actual HSC exams? Thanks in advance for any help.

Actually I believe it is possible to do well in your situation, as in selective schools there is often litte difference between the students. Poor rankings arent going to kill you, but it can be a very difficult psychological barrier which you must try to overcome. Best of luck.
