Petinga, there is no need to make two or three threads on the same subject, you just need one with any questions that you may have.

The feature article is your best bet because it is the most appropriate way to express ideas and experiences in the form of article, rather than general articles that report on events occurring.

Try looking in the later pages of a newspaper, as this is usually where the feature articles are situated. Also magazines such as Sunday Life (from the Sun-Herald) will have a few articles that you can choose to use.

Sorry, i can't do that because i didn't do a feature article for my related material; i did a film instead. :p

Are there any other text types that you are considering? Because it might be easier finding a journeys related text.

As long as you can relate the political cartoon to journeys, then I guess it's fine. If you want, you can upload it here so I can have a look or post up a link if it's somewhere on the web.

Yeah, the problem with cartoons is you cant write like tons about it.

However, you can still do a good job with a cartoon if you analyse it well.

I remember reading one article in the Good Weekend section of the SMH in August this year... About the bloke who founded Lonely Planet. Unfortunately, I didn't save it, or do any indepth analysis on it. :(

It would help if we also know what this article will be used for completing an assessment or for the HSC exam itself. Besides my poems and BOS texts I also have analysed and wrote about song and visual for an assessment task.

I suggest do another one because the theme in that cartoon is mainly freedom, not journeys.

Well figurative language used in documentaries has the effect of highlighting the physical journey, it depends on who or what's using it and the context, you will need to investigate that from the documentary that you're doing. I have no idea about recurring motiffs so i can't help you there.
