help on a question from the 1993 2unit paper (1 Viewer)

if any person can explain the answer from the 1993 Q. 5. (b) part (ii) then i would really appreciate it. i just dont get where they are commin from. thanx so much

There are two values for the gradient at the corner points B and C. Subbing a value into a gradient-function always gives 1 gradient so this curve cannot be differentiated at those points..

Just a note, that must be the hardest ever 2 unit HSC exam, Followed by year 2000. The highest mark that year was 110/120 which gives you some indication of how difficult it was
