I am looking if I can argue a controversial view of Winston; that some part of him agreed with the Party before he was tortured, or maybe he experienced a point of realisation. The main point I am arguing is that you can only truly agree with something if a tiny part of you genuinely believes it (if that makes sense). Are there any quotes that could support this?

Perhaps you could use this (idk if this is correct at all).

“But there was a space of a couple of seconds during which the expression of his eyes might conceivably have betrayed him. ” (Part I (during the 2 mins of hate)

It's when Winston temporarily chants with the other people of the party, just because they are doing it as well - he's subconsciously drawn to them in a way.
