The Lovely Bones relates to Belonging because it conveys the reactions of individuals towards the loss of a loved one, the concept of alienation ( with her murderer, Mr Harvey, the strength of family and the exclusion of the protagonist, Susie from Earth.

It represents both positive and negative aspects of Belonging.

Steer clear of it though if essay wants the positive aspects of belonging more so than the negative aspects as i got marked down using this text as it doesn't relate to belonging as close as many other texts.
