Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right thread but here's my dilemma:
I want to pursue a career in the computing/IT industry and thus really want to study Software Engineering at UNSW. However i am reevaluating that decision because my 3U maths results are mediocre (~70%) and I am really struggling in some topics such as Permutations & Combinations which also happen to be part of one of the UNSW Engineering core subjects (MATH2859 Prob, Stats and Information). I do not not know how I'm going to cope with 5 engineering maths subjects in uni when I cannot even withstand high school maths!
My question is, should I continue to pursue this dream (studying UNSW Software Engineering) or should I resort to UNSW Computer Science (3 yr degree) instead which is not so maths-heavy based? If so, is this Computer Science degree not as well regarded as the Software Engineering one?
All opinions are welcome!
Thanks
