Does anyone have this problem? Im finding it really hard coping with the fact that nobody cares if in in tHE middle of the HSC year (well nearing the end practically)!!!!

Its just that (and i will admit im a stress head) but its gotten to the point where if someone says the word HSC in this household, the definition of this final year of schooling can be labelled "excuse"..............they think i use the HSC as an excuse!!! 4 everything!

and YES! I ADMIT IT-I DO!!! because its true!

i do need the computer for all my assignments and research!
I do need peace and quiet 24/7!! (well just for teh next two weeks at least)
I do need sympathy and understanding!!
I do NOT need to be invited on ANY family "outings"!!!

i seriously break down at the very fact that i've been called to leave the house with this shit load of work i need to catch up on-2 friken majors and the trials!!!

im really scared and -a) leaving this house is not an option b) my dad is not a very sympathetic person.....HELP!!!

does anyone have this problem with family and how do u deal with it....

My family is sort of the opposite. Haha..they give me anything and everything if is just mention the word HSC. This is what you should do. Tell your dad that if he doesn't let you work or go on the computer or whatever that you'll stay at home until you 35 and be on the dole because you'll never get the qualifications you need to get a job. That should work. If not, tell him that your really busy and that you have limited time (only 3months for god sake!) and your family to stop whinging and get over it, it's once in a lifetime and then you'll be home for three months to make up for it...

Seriously though, just tell your family what you just said. Honesty will get you far

They dont know what they think really- just that I'll go well and getting there really isnt that important if u got the brains
------they need to get with the program and the times- i dont pull these marks out of nowhere! .................and yeah i tell them that but hey! what the hell can i do!?

you see-Its rude not to go to someones place when ur invited! and its friken ironic coz the people we usually visit actually have kids who lecture at university coz they never left their rooms during the HSC- for some bizare reason- im a friken exception....

and i know they are just being friendly and all by inviting everyone but seriously-people need to have some consideration....so to answer ur question, they think the HSC is an excuse for EXTRA time on the computer or EXTRA time at home- thing is.....THERE IS NO TIME WHEN UR DOING 4 UNIT ENGLISH AND DRAMA!

i c.. it must be annoying doing high level subjects such as 4u english and constantly facing distractions...

Haha. My parents are the same. But they have learnt to deal with it a little better now. My mum still insists that I work 10+ hours a week, and my brother insists on playing his music and playstation at 12am full-blast, even though I need my sleep.

I wish I had your commitment though The HSC is scaring the hell out of me because I feel like I am the only one NOT studying. I just cant seem to focus on it.

Is going to the library an option? It sounds to me like you you need to go somewhere to chill out a bit.

I agree with damnations approach with regards to dealing with your parents
But if not, all you can do, is just ignore it.

Dont worry so much. And I know saying that isnt really going to help, but you dont have to study 24/7. Chances are, you will breakdown if you put that much pressure on yourself.
