Okay so my UAI isn't going to be all that great. I know this. How does the whole course transfer thing work? I'm going to have to try for some sucky course and then transfer... What are the rules with this? Does it have to be within the same faculty? etc. etc. Thanks gang.

Nope. Each course has a NRSL (non recent schoo leaver) cut off, which is usually lower than the uai. It really depends on what course you want to do, some disregard your uai, some are half half. I suggest you look into the transfers area of the tertiary section and reads frigids post. Its pretty good. What course do you want to eventually end up in?

If you are willing to transfer at the end of first year, they will not go by your UAI, but probably by your WAM (weighted average mark) at uni.

i heard that you have to get some of your subjects distinctions, i'm planning to do that for commerce so i can try to get into law after the first year.
