[FONT=&quot]Hello. I'll be shortly moving to Macquarie University and I'm considering the possibility to stay at the Herring Road apartments; however I recently read at some blog that the place consisted of "shabby looking apartments that have been on to the 'to-demolish' list for quite some time now, apparently". (http://lookoutabove.blogspot.com/)

I'm not picky whatsoever, and I really don't care about how the place looks as long as it is clean and safe. Considering it is $180 per week (single room, shared bathroom), what would you say?

Thanks a lot!
Mike:)

Do they have an open-house kind of thing? If so, best way to know is to go and see for yourself. Don't always trust blogs.

Actually, that blog's description is pretty accurate. I have a workmate who lives in those places, and she says it is okay, not a bad standard of living, but thats pretty much what you get for $180 a week. Its your own bedroom (with key), shared bathroom and living area, and of course kitchen. They aren't anywhere near as nice aesthetically as Dunmore Lang or Mac Village on Waterloo road, but those other places are more expensive.

But, I can assure you they are clean and safe :)

Thanks a lot MaryJane. I think it is okay then. There's always an attractive thing about living in a safe and clean shabby-looking place:)
