Lobby4Linux is looking for 100 participants to use and report their findings on the Linux Live CD distribution PCLinuxOS. You do not need to install anything on your computer. Linux technology has developed a cd that you can boot into and use without touching any data on your computer. When you are done, reboot, remove the disk and return to your native OS environment. Requirements are simple:

must be in your senior year of high school
have broadband (fast connection) Dial up study will be conducted at a later date.
be willing to use PCLinuxOS at least 5 hours a week.
submit a "diary" week to week of your user experience.

preferred status:

no prior experience with linux.

The study will last for 6 weeks and the top three participants will be given a dvd burner and their results, all or in part, will be published on the Lobby4Linux website and our affiliate research sites. You will be asked to "start from scratch" with the PCLinuxOS experince. Website and forum help is available and will be provided to you.

Please visit http://lobby4linux.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=18
for details and how to sign up.

yes, we are legitimate

We have no interest in selling you anything nor do we want a dime of your money. We simply want you to test a Live Linux CD and possibly be given a dvd burner for your troubles. There are thousands of PCLinuxOS users world wide. We want to know how the new user orients to it and get feedback, either positive or negative. Linux has become fall-out-of-bed easy and you don't have to worry a bit about viruses or spyware...It just isn't possible.
