Hey just a quick question... on my assessment task it has "what values are involved in this construction" as one of the criteria. What the hell does this mean? I was assuming that it was asking about different ways of valuing the text, but now i'm not sure.

Also, i'm doing a newspaper article for one of my self-selected texts which is about a book on history and its reception by the public, so do I discuss the books values or the newspaper article's?

i would talk about the book's values but show how they are expressed through the newspaper article. (i.e. how they are represented).

Any other general notes on the complex relationship between representation and meaning? Not sure what that's actually asking..
