Whats the most effective way of presenting a history speech without making others fall asleep.

in order to make people stay awake, i tell them they have to pay attention and at the end when i ask them questions if they get it right. they get choclates
gaurenteed, theyre ears will be glued to every word you say

it helps to hae lots of pictures, posters, overheads and powerpoint

Handouts are good to keep people occupied with some of your key points or a good source -

a power point presentation which just has your main points summaried - mabye a map if appropriate - a picture relating to your topic - and use of colour always keeps it much more interesting
