First % = average % between first two assessments.
Second number = rank in class (year)

  1. Biology - 93% = 2nd in class out of 20 (1 mark differenced form top in class)
  2. Chemistry - 93% = 1st in class out of 8
  3. Business Studies - Around 85% = 2nd in class out of 33 (beaten by 1 mark)
  4. English - 84% - 7th in year out of 40
  5. Economics - 95% = 3rd in class out of 8 (beaten by 2 marks)
Maths = around 55% - 12 in class out of 13 ==== DROPPED TODAY.

Also note i go to a rural school. I think they are good! except maths which i dropped today - i know it wont count for HSC or UAI (lowest subject) + it is only assumed knowledge for my degree and we are (were) on LAST TOPIC. so i figured i know the basics of the whole course = assumed knowledge = drop and spend time on other subjects.

Thoughts? + your scores?

BTW - i want a UAI of 85 --> 91 at least. I want to get into pharmacy and apply for medicine - at armidale, adelaide and newcastle.

The better you can do, the higher your UAI will be.
Just keep going!

If you finished maths by now, then why would you drop it? you have months to practise! please, no-ones perfect first go {P.s. it's not really assumed knowledge if you're not doing too well at it :p}

Other than that, good work =]

85 is a possibility, improve your English just by abit and you'll get your 90.

They are great marks & ranks. Your school is insanely small - 40 people in the year? Mine has 200. Is your school competitive?
I think you're well on track to achieving 85-90. Especially with marks like those in Chemistry & Economics. And good decision in dropping maths haha, well justified :)
Keep it up :)

my averaged marks/ranks so far are:
Adv Eng 90% 4/200
Modern History 99% 1/40-something
Society & Culture 100% 1/43
Extension History 100% 1/19
IPT 93% equal 1st/14
SOR1 had assessment today

Just gotta pull English up and shall be on track :)
Exams might throw everything out though, we shall see

4 unit maths....
enough said?
lol
sure was.

But yeah its possible.

It sucks because English is the only subject that is counted towards your UAI regardless of marks.

Agreed?

AGREE!!

English is by far my worst subject. It's the subject that will kill me.

I live in a town of around 3500 though.
what's it like going to such a small school?
I'd imagine it would be mad because of the tight community and the small classes make learning more interactive.

But on the other hand, resources may not be as good as big schools. Not all subjects may be offered?

It's pretty good in the sense that we have a close year group etc, but you're right about the subjects.
In my case I wanted to do Modern History but as I was the only person to choose it it wasn't available. I instead got placed into Ancient History which I found extremely boring so I switched to IT.
It's a bit of a disadvantage I guess, having to do subjects you don't want because of what's offered in the 'line'.
For example Legal Studies is in the same line with PDHPE and SLR so you can only choose one.
Our smallest class contains one person.

haha, more like private tutor session..
Yeah, my physics class is quite small (wouldn't be small by your standards though) and I find it great. The environment is a lot better, there's a lot more questions asked and the class discussions are really interesting and helpful

It's a lot better than my economics class which is at full capacity () with like 23/24 students or something.
