Hey all you ppl ~~
Im currently in yr 12 and wondering what course to take in uni.
I thought maybe a vet is pretty good but the uai is so high ..........><
So does anyone know of an easier way to get into the course?
And also whats involved in the course? Is it easy to find a job when i finish the course and work as a vet???

Get diabetes, get a UAI of around 94, and write a letter to USyd saying youur diabetes affected your HSC.

It's what a friend of mine did, but he got a 97 UAI, and got 5 more marks.

Two possibilities:
Find a crooked doctor and lodge an EAS application.
Hassle your rich parents/win lotto/sell your body to get into a fee paying course.

Dickheads :p

You can transfer if you can't make the cutoff.
You will have to undertake the STAT test and you must fill out a from of 'committment'.

eas = education access scheme... it is designed for students who have their academic results impeded by unusually circumstances such as illness, over responsibility in the family, etc etc...

gpa i dunno... but some crime check if i had to guess =)

to transfer u need to do good in the uni... sometimes, transfer will look a proportion of ur uai, rest ur uni marks...

STAT is an external test you will have to do .it can be multiple maths questions or essay style english exam, depending on the STAT you will be required to do. This test will be a contributing factor to your successful transfer!

hey chun, i transferred into vet this year (yay!) i got 97 for my UAI, has EAS but still missed out (its still very competitive) and did animal science for a year. I worked my ass off, got a distinction average in Animal Science, got 99.8 in my STAT test (it wasnt very hard) did heaps of work experience, got a job in a boarding kennel, joined WIRES, RSPCA, animal welfare league etc, and finally got in.
So basically if you cant get the marks straight from high school, you need to pick a course that u can do well in, work hard and get good marks, do your stat test and get a good mark (you can do it more than once if you stuff up) and do as much work experience as you can.
Its hard work, but its so worth it, i love the course this year, its great.

PS - animal science is not a great course in 1st and 2nd years, so if you dont intend to finish the course (ie - you want to transfer out), i'd reccommend studying something else, its very agriculture based.
