is it possible to do with Nero if both DVDs will physically fit (i.e. 2 gigs each)?

a dvd iso is approx. 4.4gb each. That's how much a dvd disc can hold.

the newer dual layer burners and dvd-r's will give you 9.4gb of space, so using a dual layer disc you can place two full quality dvd'a on, that is if you use a ripper to remove the menus and unessecary extras.

you can use dvd shrink to rip and re- compress your videos. you will lose quality depending on how long each movie is. also you'd need to get rid of the extra rubbish on the dvd's (eg. menus, special features)....

your not pirating movies are you?

He probably is'nt coz it would take ages to download 2 dvd's worth - unless he uses his UNI's bandwith as i know a few who do.

it all depends on the size of the computer and the set burning speeds. The compression itself takes about 30 mins at full dvd quality.

i burn all my dvd's at 1X. This takes a full hour. This way there aren't any jumps or hiccups of the dvd. believe me, it has happened, and it even pisses my right off when you have to get another dvd-r and wait another hour to burn it again.

my system is

p4 2.6ghz HT 800Mhz FSB
40gb hdd
512mb ram
geforce 4 mx440 64m
aopen dvd-rw
17" monitor

Let me remind you all that it is illegal in this country to make a copy of DVD that you do not hold the copyright to.

i only use it because it is a free compressor and burner, every other program i have tried has limits on compression, or has a stupid watermark across it. i tried using studio 8, but it is a pain in the arse, it took ages to export my multimedia stuff. dont get me started on the bugs involved.

Let me remind you all that it is illegal in this country even to make a copy of a DVD that you DO own - thanks to Australia's archaic copyright laws.
