focus on a different past time that has nothing to do with computers. like a interest you had before you got your computer.

i suggest reading or some form of writing.

personally i would suggest some royal spanking ;) i'm feeling kinda spanky today...

Don't ask questions like the above through such a medium.

have msn so it doesnt automatically sign in once u go online - also have it so you appear offline when u sign in, so no-one talks to u and u can appear online only when u have to talk to someone, and u see that person is online.

start using ur computer only for typing up notes/assessments etc and then u will only come online when u need help.

whenever u think, "im bored, ill go on msn or bos, thhink from now on, nah i'll go ....... instead" and do something else
heh, what if the other guy is waiting for you to come on too?

I can still work hours on end without looking at MSN D:, if you focus on the work your doing (ie. lets say your doing an assignment)- and you get stuck into that, concetrating on that only, then you will forget about MSN, I did my SDD assignment 4 hours straight with MSN open, people even sent messages and I didn't notice

for msn I suggest you delete it. I did a bit over a year ago and it hasn't been a problem since. As for bored of studies... well- maybe make a limit on how much you can come on to it, like 3 times a week or something. That's what I'm trying.

Me too! I've deleted MSN (Someone on this board suggested this ages ago), and the last time I was on I think was in the Sept hols last year--wohoo!

Anyway, as for BOS, you're just going to have to wean your way off--maybe the following ways would be helpful?

1. you could block the site until HSC's over
2. tell the mods/admins to ban you (so that, should you enter the site, you can only enter as a guest and can't post, saving the time you could've spent posting) 3. do all your internet research at school so that when you come home you won't need to use the Internet at all

For me personally, it was option 3. You'll find it much easier over time--last time, it killed me to wait more than three days without going on BOS but I've recently overcome this barrier: I didn't go on BOS for 20--yes, 20--straight days, from the 28th March, until the 17th April (hippee hooray--jsut thought I'd advertise that) Took me close to four months to wean off, but there you go: better you start now, and with Term 2 approaching, you'll at least give yourself an excuse that you're 'busy' (if not in reality) preparing for trials and Term 2 asssesments to pull up rankings and what have you (btw, that was what I used Term 1 as: an excuse to haul myself off BOS, cos I was so 'busy').

Good luck.

Don't be so fucking melodramatic. Procratination is a state of mind. You shouldn't be using your situation as an excuse so subsidize (how the fuck do you spell that?) the insecurities exhibited by your internal disposition. Chance are, on MSN you are speaking about school and subjects and in effect studying and probably more effectively than wrote learning everything and also BOS is a great resource, just learn some self restraint.

In short, quit your whining, you'll be fine.

Haha, I know what you mean... I recently discovered msn (yeah I know, great timing)... in the holidays I was sometimes on it for like 3 hours at a time, and you don't even notice. Maybe set yourself a time limit, and get everyone to kick you off when you reach it.
