 Do the marks in assessments matter (do they even take them into consideration?) or is it just the rank that is important?

Thanks for your time! :)

Basically it is your rank, try to be in the top like 5-10 for your courses
Having said that it is unlikely that the person coming 1st in a sub would be getting 60%
They use your ranks to work out what assessment mark you will get
In my case some of my marks went up by like 20
Hope that helped

Your mark is also important in that it shows where you are placed relative to the other students (i.e. how far ahead of or behind them you are).

It acts as a 'placeholder' - you're assigned a new moderated mark based on your rank, the relative differences between students in your class, and the performance of your class on the HSC exam.

Thanks guys! :D So ultimately, I need to strive for a good rank and HSC marks. :) I'm so glad that was said, because I seriously stuffed my first Ext. 1 Maths exam - even though my rank was 4th :p I'm not happy with the result!
Again, thank you for your advice!
