For me, I write down my own notes in my exercise books (summaries) & simply re-read it until it sinks in..For subject like economics, the more I do that, the more I understand it & the pieces of the puzzle come together.. Alot of memorising considering that I do

Eco
Eng Adv & EXT 1
Mathematics
SOR II

For me, I'm a visual learner - that means I make mind maps, diagrams, and draw picture to help visualise the concepts. I tend to make summaries for my notes and put them in my own words as I find that helps me retain information better. When I'm reading something, I don't take it at face value, rather I always ask why is x like this, how does x relate to y because if you cannot answer these questions, then you do not truly understand it.
This was the dominant by which I studied as well:)
