My ATAR will most likely be around 85 - 92. I'm eligible for Access Melbourne in both criterias (financial disadvantage and rural background) and because of that it says you only need 78 (it's normally 90) to get guaranteed entry into a Bachelor of Arts course. BUT, EVERYONE who lives in Melbourne that I've spoken to has continually told me not to get my hopes up because the university of melbourne is extremely, extremely hard to get into. Which makes me extremely worried and freaked out. It says entry will be guaranteed if you fulfill the criteria and get above 78, but after what everyone has said, I still feel freaked, can they still deny you even if you meet those entry requirements?

Huh? Melbourne cut offs aren't that high...
ANd with access melbourne you only need a 78 for arts or science, well below the normal 90.
