We have 5 x 60 min periods and then 1 x 50 min period, every day. It used to be 3 x 50 min, then 2 x 45 min, then 2 x 40 min periods at the end of the day before my school got taken over by our evil dictator of a principal.

Tuesday - 4 X 46 Minutes [Sport]
Wednesday - 4 X 52 Minutes [Leave at Lunch]
Thursday - 6 X 52 Minutes
Friday - 6 X 52 Minutes

Week B
Monday - 5 X 52 Minutes [4th period is a free]
Tuesday - 4 X 46 Minutes [Sport]
Wednesday - 5 X 52 Minutes [Leave at 2:20]
Thursday - 6 X 52 Minutes
Friday - 6 X 46 Minutes [Shortended periods due to assembly]

oh, my timetable has 6 days. Thursday is always DAY 6 but the other 5 days cycle around the other four days of the week - so if in week 1 monday was day 1 then week 2 monday would be day 5 etc etc

uh - u guys r lucky - have 4 75min (approx) periods a day...

Mon -Wed and Fri - 7 periods - 45 mins each
Thursday - 5 periods - 34 minutes each

I prefer these shorter periods than having really long periods, like some schools having periods which are over an hour.

Mine's kinda similar. For year 12's, it's

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 6x52 minute periods.
Tuesdays: 4x45 minute periods.
Thursdays: 5x52 minute periods.

70-75 minutes.... four classes a day, 2 recesses, 1 lunch.
Except Wednesday - 2 classes, 1 recess, 1 lunch.

52 minutes, except on Tuesdays - periods 1-4 are 45 minutes, period 5 is 52 minutes, period 6 is 68 minutes. No period 6 on Thursdays.

70 minute periods and over are pretty dumb and pointless, because the concentration of the class is going to decrease significantly and people will start to become restless, thus gaining little or no knowledge at all from the lesson.

I don't know... having 40 minutes is too small though. If you include travelling time within 40 minutes, realistically, you only work for 30-35 minutes or less.

I would LOVE 70 minutes per period which means that there is less time wasted on travelling (in regards to time you spend in classes).

P.S. I have 55 minutes for each period.

6 periods of 55 minutes.. except for thursdays which is 6 periods of 50 minutes

i reckon thats appropriate times. anything 60+ seems too much.
