I'm surprised some schools don't actually have assessments this term. Personally, I think they should, so that you have an extra assessment that weighs less (so that if you stuff up, it isn't so bad) and is more consistent in monitoring your study. I found that assessments every term (from Year 11 Term 4) help pace my study, but the worst was in Term 2, where we got two asssesments for every subject, plus trials in the two weeks after July holidays.

assignment doesnt mean assessment. assignment is like take home research/ own work come back hand in. assessments is the broader term which includes assignments, exams, practicals, orals etc.

on a rdm note. be grateful you have english assignments... they are better than written assessments XD. (since wirting essay at home handing it in is much easier than writing essay at home, learning it and putting it onto paper during the exam)

Well I just completed a 3000 word assignment for art, on the painting "Shearing the rams", which I do not find that great at all. Took about 2.5/3 hours, although at least its done now. Due tomorrow, and worst of all, its not even being graded, although we still have to do it. I don't fear the topic, or not doing it, I fear the teacher, shes not one to mess with, lol.
