I am in BIT @ UTS and out of 28 people there are 6 girls.

Laura, that's a good ratio in BIT! - just under 25%. I suspect for BScIT that it would be much less than that.

In my classes I am lucky if there are 2 out of 30 students.

I noticed for SDP with 18 groups of roughly 9 or 10 per team, we'd be lucky to find a team that has two 2 girls.

In BIT 2007, out of the 23 places there are 7 females.
