honky, credit points are the 'value' of your course, over the duration of your degree you have to fufill X credit points
newcastle generally treats one subject as 10 credit points (i havnt found any that are higher/lower than 10)

mm some uni's use different values of credit for a subject, so you cant really compare those
me..
1st semester:
18CP/3 subjects - 9 hours

2nd semester
24/CP/4 subjects - 13 hours

nope, its just how many points that subject is worth towards you degree
for example, my degree requires me to do 240 points by the time i finish, so thats 80 points a year.
im going to transfer, so it doesnt really affect me that much
but i am doing 30 this semester and 40 next semester, so one other semester im going to have to do 50 units to catch up

so yeah, its just working towards a certain amount of knowledge at the end of your degree

yep...for example, to qualify for your degree, if you were only doing 60cp this year, you would need to do 100cp another year to catch up so you would get a pretty bit of paper saying you qualified.

Its not accurate to compare credit points because diff unis consider e4ach subject to be worth diff credit points, and have different amounts of cp you need to have to get the degree...

I have 4 subjects for 15 hours

I don't know about my credit points, considering all my subjects this year are compulsory. Anyway, I got 15 hours this semester for four subjects.
