I really want to know how many subjects you need to do to qualify for a minor stream. I cannot find any information about it anywhere for some reason. So can someone help me out? Thanks:).

Depends on your uni, faculty, school, and course. Don't bother asking this unless you have details. :)

I don't know who my current head of faculty is, it would be easy to find out though, just do a search on the Newcastle University website. I meant my future (hopefully) faculty coordinator:D.

True, but for a minor they often don't require all subjects in the stream. And in other cases they may still require at least one of the final stage (ie final year) subjects for it to count. Once again, all variable between the above.

I now at UOW, it's 48 Units for a Major and 24 Units for a Minor.... whats it for other uni's? any differences or is it pretty stock standard?

How can it be standard? Each university allocates their own meaning to the amount of credit points (in your case "units" - further evidence for this statement) affiliated with a subject. If you mean a minor is roughly half a major, I'm prepared to say that's a common trend.
