I usually try to write the most i can in 35 mins or watever it is, but the answer sheets usually misguide me as i write big.
i mean cz there are less lines, when i use em up i feel like i shouldne write anymore, when actually i havent written much as i write big, and i should have/could have written a lot more.

so how many words for a 20mk essay?

4-6 pages should suffice

They are capping it next year to 800 words?? (cant remember atm)

Anyway, its approx 4-6 and remember that the spacing between lines is quite generous so it may sound like a lot but it isnt
Dont know where the above poster got 900 from...its not official as they have never capped their extended resposnes in SOR

next year they are changing the syllabus for practically every subject to specify an approximate word count for each section. so yes in effect they are capping it, or just giving people an idea of how long it should be.

i'd say the 4-6 pages answer is about right

as the above poster pointed out...things are changing in the exams for 2009

20 marks=800 words or 6 pages
15 marks=650 words or 4 pages

from memory...I dont have the Board memo at hand
