I'm about to graduate this year with bachelor of commerce at UNSW with
credit average... I don't really have any work experience yet. do I just go to companies websites and apply for grad positions? is that how you get jobs after grad?

Usually people go through internships in their penultimate year and get offered a grad job that way since that's where I'd say the majority are... but for those who didn't go down that path, then grad applications are usually done online and you can apply at respective company and firm websites. Attend career expos (both held by UNSW and those held by industry bodies) if you aren't sure what companies are hiring and/or want to find out more before you apply.
