How to write a University essay? (1 Viewer)

Hi Everyone,

Received my first uni essay last week for marketing, we are given a question and we are also given 3 journals and we need to find 3 of our own. I just need help with writing the essay, mainly getting my point across and how to put my journals in, I am finding it extremely hard, could someone please help?

what most lecturers would say is:

1. get topic
2. find + read journal articles for said topic
3. PARAPHRASE the ideas of that article into your essay

but what i did was:

1. get topic
2. think about it for a while, come up with my own ideas on said topic
3. look for journal articles that supported my ideas

so basically i was thought up my own idea of said topic and gave credit to other authors/writers that thought similarly to me. that way, i wouldn't have to paraphrase.
