Just got a new tower ... have a very old monitor with the three pins at the back, like:

On the monitor there are two places like the above, one sticking in, and one sticking out. Both to connect to tower, however, one ends in the same three layout, the other has the:

........
......

Thing happening, serial is it called?

NOW: the second one mentioned, the serial one, it connects to the back of the tower, however, there is no place for the other three slot thing. This last one is for power to the monitor. THUS, my monitor shows nothing. I put it in a different computers monitor and it works fine ... so its all about powering the screen. But there is no place on my toewr?! My tower only has one 3-thing and that is for ITS power ... and there is a power swtich on the back, Ive never seen this before!??!?!

WHAT DO I DOOOOO??? :(:(:

maybe you could buy a power convertor from somewhere which will convert that old pos plug into a normal outlet power so u can just plug it in

Sorry, thats how old monitors worked. They expected power from the tower's power supply. But since modern towers consume more power they cannot power a monitor as well as the tower itself.

Your only option is to buy a power cable for your monitor to connect to a power point such as this

*PHEW!!* I thought I was super dead and needed to buy another screen, a 12buk chord is MUCH better in comparison. Thanks sunny ;)
